I'm not sure how long the bike is but you're definitely not giving it all it's got for the first couple of seconds. Longer wheelbase will certainly help with this but if you're stock wheelbase try going WOT sooner and sooner in the run until the front end starts lifting badly. Also, an air shifter will knock a couple of tenths off your overall time and add at least a couple of MPH if you're willing to put one on the bike. Just for comparison we ran 6.40's bone stock. We're running almost a second quicker than that now and not making a ton more power, just using it better. Good luck and keep it on the safe side. Sneak up on the times at the track and it'll keep you out of trouble. Live to race another day I always say.

What is the best way to launch the zx14.
proper rpm and letting the clutch out and how hard on the throttle.
thanks
WOT means "wide open throttle". Drag Racing 101

I think you shift a touch faster without letting off the throttle so much. You should be able to shift it clutchless by just blipping the throttle and kicking up. The new slipper clutch in the 12's is ideal for it. I can shift stupid fast. Not as quick as an air shifter but damn close.
